Bentley Mill is conveniently situated close to Bury Court Barn and Northbrook Park wedding and party venues, both within a mile and a half. It is also convenient for the Squires International Cookery School courses, being 2 miles from the centre of Farnham. Frensham Heights School holds functions and is 3 miles from Bentley Mill. Likewise Farnham Castle has regular seminars courses and Conferences and is a venue for weddings. Close by there are interesting Stately Homes, National Trust properties and gardens to visit and there are some beautiful walks straight from the property.

Farnborough which holds an International Air Show taking place every two years in July, is five miles away. Birdworld is within 2 miles. Goodwood Racecourse and Racing Track and Ascot Racecourse, and the South Coast are all reached within an hour. London by way of the M3, A3 or A30 can be reached in an hour, depending upon time of day.

For Wimbledon tennis which takes place in late June and early July annually, the train stops in Wimbledon village taking 25 minutes and making it very useful for those attending the Championships.

Trains from Bentley station or Farnham run twice an hour and take one hour to London Waterloo. It is quite possible to go to London for the Theatre or an evening out using the train service.

Guildford has all the major shops and boutiques, as does Southampton. Winchester and Chichester are both ancient  Cathedral  cities with good shops and an interesting  selection of eateries and Restaurants. Chichester is 2 miles from the coast and the South Downs.

Farnham itself is an attractive old market town with more than the average listed buildings and is 2 miles from Bentley Mill. It has plenty of  Restaurants and cafes and some interesting individual shops as well as some of the usual high street stores. It has a notable 14th Century Castle.  There is a Farmers’ Market  on the third Sunday of every month.

This being Jane Austen country means there is much reference to her in the area. Her brother lived, for a time, in what is now The Old Rectory in Bentley and her home is 7 miles away in the picturesque village of Chawton and the house can be visited most days of the week.

Guildford, Windsor, Woking and Winchester all have Theatre productions, some prior to London. The London Theatres are only one hour from here by way of the train. Guildford and Basingstoke have large cinema complexes.

The Naval Base at Portsmouth has been protecting British soil since 1194 and offers several museums and places of historic interest, two of note being The Mary Rose and HMS Victory. There are good shops and plenty of pubs and restaurants and nice views of the coast, including the Isle of Wight. Ferries run frequently from Portsmouth to the Island.

Thus the South of England is steeped in history and interest and only a handful of attractions have been outlined. Bentley Mill is situated in a location which makes it a very convenient base for exploring these and an abundance of different possibilities, or just as you find it, it is perfect in itself for a relaxing getaway...
